Online retail sales to reach £25.5 billions in ’09

With a recession looming the general consensus of opinion is ecommerce will benefit rather than be impacted by the recession. Research by eMarketer Sept 2008 support this with a projected increase in online sales of £6.5 billion pounds in 2009. This represents 8.6% of total retail sales in the UK an increase of over 30% from 2008 as online sales take more money from the high street.
