Annual Design Awards
The Annual Design Awards (nicknamed ANNDAS) is a global recognition of cutting edge visual communications, set up to reward outstanding contributions within the Design industry. We were approached by the founder of the Annual Design Awards who offered us a sponsorship and partnership deal to develop and run a totally new website which was required to bring the company up to the next level. This offer could not be turned down as it carry's a very prestigious placement in the world of design.

The Annual Design Awards
Our goal was to develop a brand new site for the awards which we decided to build from scratch on a Yii framework. This was not only done to accommodate the functional requirements that the website needed, but was also an opportunity to give us an insight to the Yii platform. Our programmer was quick to get to work on this immediately and even spent his own personal time to research and come up with a great solution.
The brief that we prepared ourselves to work against was based on the existing website functionality along with many new enhancements which the designer had incorporated into the design drafts. It was soon taking shape after just the first two months which was good considering we still had to get on with the daily tasks of building the client's websites.

By the third month we had brought the website near to completion and the winners of the awards for 2009 was to be announced in conjunction with the new website launch. The team were again working hard into the late hours to meet the deadline that was looming and as the finishing line was in sight they even had the time to create a countdown page which would activate the live site at an exact time automatically, which was a really neat touch.
The website has had a very warm reception from a great deal of the design community and has been featured on many other CSS gallery sites as well as on some very influential sponsors sites.
We are now looking to develop the final phase which will require an ecommerce system to take payments for next years entries along with some other minor improvements.
We remain very faithful to this cause and hope to bring recognition to the designers out there looking to get ahead in their fields.
